Redistricting Scorecard

The redistricting scorecard was a service I provided to political junkies who wanted to follow the most important, and arguably least understood, aspect of American politics, redistricting.  The old web page is still available (though it has not been updated in a while since I no longer have access to it).  I am now writing about redistricting, based on my observations of the 2001 round of redistricting and my participation in six states, and I will post pre-prints and data here when they become available.  In the future, I plan to revamp the redistricting scorecard for the next round of redistricting.

In the meantime, I have created an essay on recommendations to enhance competitiveness in redistricting through a commission system.

I am participating in organizing a Brookings conference on redistricting to be held April 16, 2003.  More information will be forthcoming as details are finalized.
